Mary's ability to weave memories, humor, insight and empathy into short stories has earned her international recognition from The Independent Free Papers of America, National Federation of Press Women, North Dakota Newspaper Association, andn Minnesota Free Paper Association.

Mary has lived in Fargo since 1949. She and her husband, Donovon, have a blended family of seven children, 17 grandchildren and two great granddaughters. They divide their time between Fargo, Detroit Lakes, MN, and LaQuinta, CA.
