"Traveling around the country shooting TV stories for KVLY-TV, I see a lot of the countryside. I’ve always been intrigued by the beauty of snow drifts and they seemed especially nice just west of Hitterdahl, MN on County Road 26. The rise out of the Red River Valley, the open spaces and deep ditches really help sculpt the snow. I waited for a clear day after a blizzard. The fresh drifts and late-day sun did not disappoint me." Artist Mel Stone. This photo was juried into “Art on the Plains” in 2006 (AOP9).
